2018 - 2019 ASHK Junior Concert Band

2015-2018 ISF Junior Concert Band!

Welcome to the ISF Junior Concert Band!

December Notes:

Check this website out for more holiday carols!

1. Choose the song you want to play

2. Choose your instrument from the upper right corner

3. It will play along with you, and shows you proper fingerings on the left side of the screen. Cool!

December 16 performance: Be in the music room at 330pm for warmup and setup. Normal school uniform

December 18 performance: Meet me in the carpark near the stage entrance at 10am. Make sure you have your instrument and your music! You may wear any holiday outfit and santa or elf hats are allowed too!

Parents please re-register for the Semester 2 portion of Junior Band. Follow the instructions that were listed in the school circular.

We'll need to find a place to perform in March. Suggestions welcome!

November Notes:

We'll be performing in December! Start practicing the Christmas Songs!

Parents will need to re-register for Semester 2 at the end of the month

October Notes:

We've had issues with students skipping rehearsals. It is very important that each student attend each rehearsal. With only 1 hour each week, we cannot afford to miss any rehearsal time!

  1. If you need to miss a rehearsal, it is your responsibility to make sure that your parents email Ms Mandy at least 1 day in advance. Please ensure that you do not miss rehearsals unless it is absolutely necessary. Missing rehearsals reflects badly on your commitment to the group.

September Notes:

Students can go straight to R305 after school. No need to meet in Jessie's kitchen.

August Notes:

  1. Please make sure you have a zip bag or folder to keep your music sheets, music book and pencil in!
  2. Note that rehearsals begin at 330pm and finish at 430pm. We meet in Jessie's kitchen at 325pm and then will be in R305 at 330pm. Please do not be tardy!
  3. If you need to miss a rehearsal, it is your responsibility to make sure that your parents email Ms Mandy at least 1 day in advance. Please ensure that you do not miss rehearsals unless it is absolutely necessary. Missing rehearsals reflects badly on your commitment to the group.

I'm going to try to post regular audio recordings of our rehearsals here. They are not perfect, but that's why I'm posting them.

LISTEN.

Can you hear mistakes in your part?

Can you hear when we're together?

Can you hear when some people are faster or slower than others?

What can you do to help improve it?

Check this out, see what you think. Wouldn't it be cool if we could do something like that?
